Friend scares easily over typed words and loses it

A girl who was a friend of mine flips out during texts because she has horrible anxiety with almost any conversation. She had no friends no choice when she could easily have dozens. So why seek me out angry over something you took the wrong way?

She does this often. Blame the guy. Sometimes it is justified but often started by her first. She also gets confused over straight forward statements. I can tell even in her mid 40s and being a looker, she doesn’t communicate with many people unless it’s by her control.

I feel sorry for her but feel horrible I scared her. Amazed I did with what I said but she’s a fragile mess at times. We were text arguing which is bizarre as the world is today, but it’s all women do is hide behind screens.

She actually has a valid excuse to because of how bad her anxiety is. Everything should not be by typed words if it’s important. So many misunderstandings occur and we all know it. She died and said this the other day but knows it’s all she can or will do. Set in her ways aka control what you can handle.

I scared her as she sadly scares easily if there are too many words in a text. Hers can have a bunch of mean spirited things but heaven forbid I attempt to explain something or defend myself and she shuts it all down. Childish perhaps but also part of her anxiety disorder.

She supposedly has GAD like I also do but stupidly will often say that I think too much. Like duh chica, it’s what that horrible disorder is and we know we think irrationally at times but we just cannot stop it. I believe it’s a defense mechanism for her to say this to end a discussion. Hard to say for sure though.

I feel bad I scared her by just sending a couple texts replying to her. I couldn’t stop and that’s on me, but she scares easily. Sometimes though I believe it’s BS because she often cannot take anything that strikes a nerve which she cannot handle.

It all drives me mad but now she’s likely gone forever hiding as always. I still will miss her despite all of it and likely blame myself for scaring her because I sent a text or two too many.
